Nuestra Historia
La Fundación Cipotes Sonriendo es una organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a empoderar a niños y familias a través del deporte, la educación y el apoyo comunitario. Con raíces profundas tanto en el estado de Washington como en El Salvador, creemos que cada niño merece la oportunidad de crecer, soñar y triunfar.
Fundada el 6 de junio de 2021 por Aminta Elgin — con el apoyo incondicional de Ana Castro y Salvadorean Bakery — la Fundación comenzó como un sueño personal que se convirtió en un movimiento comunitario. A medida que la necesidad crecía más rápido de lo que los recursos personales podían cubrir, Aminta abrió la causa a amigos, vecinos y voluntarios que compartían su visión. Lo que comenzó como el compromiso de una persona se ha convertido en una organización que ha impactado directamente a más de 245 niños, recaudado más de $8,500 en su 2da Gala Anual, y continúa construyendo alianzas en Washington State y El Salvador.
🌱Nuestro Nombre
Llevamos con orgullo el nombre 'cipote' — un querido término náhuatl para 'niño' o 'joven' arraigado en la cultura salvadoreña y vinculado al mítico Cipitío, el niño eternamente alegre. Es tanto un término de cariño como un símbolo de los niños que están en el corazón de todo lo que hacemos.

Foundation Founded
On June 6, 2021, Aminta Elgin founded the Cipotes Sonriendo Foundation as a personal dream, supported from day one by Ana Castro and Salvadorean Bakery. Together they provided the initial resources to bring this mission to life for the benefit of children in Washington State and El Salvador.

First Annual Gala Dinner
As requests for help grew faster than personal resources could cover, Aminta invited friends, neighbors, and volunteers to join the mission. In mid-October 2024, the team set an ambitious goal: host a First Annual Gala Dinner. On December 12, 2024, that vision became reality — a landmark fundraiser that launched a historic tradition.

In mid-October 2024, the team set an ambitious goal: host a First Annual Gala Dinner. On December 12, 2024, that vision became reality — a landmark fundraiser that launched a historic tradition.
2nd Annual Gala: $8,500+ Raised
On November 1, 2025, the 2nd Annual Gala exceeded all expectations, raising over $8,500 through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and dedicated volunteers. These funds supported Fundación Fundas mi Futuro, local soccer schools, and individual young athletes — directly benefiting over 245 children.
